This safari is ideal for those who do not have enough time to visit all the national parks in Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Crater is a one-day safari that will give you the opportunity to see the Big Five (including rhinos), as well as different species of birds. You will also visit the historical site if time allows.
Our guide will pick you up from your lodge at Arusha for the 3-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unfilled, intact and inactive volcano in the world. This impressive crater is over 600 meters (2,000 feet) deep. The Ngorongoro Crater has the largest mammal population (20,000) and many other small wild animals, with a variety of bird species.
The crater has a forest habitat, which is home to buffalos, zebras, and other herbivores. You will spend the day in the crater with a picnic lunch. Later, your guide will drive you back to Arusha.
