Details

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Rivertrees Arusha for an overnight stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis. Should you arrive early, we can arrange a city tour for you to go to the different places in Arusha to enjoy some local experiences.

If interested, you can add one of the activities below (activity supplement applies): • Materuni Waterfalls hike, coffee tour and local lunch • Swimming day at Kikuletwa/Maji Moto Hot Springs • Arusha village biking • Canoeing safari and/or nature walk plus game drive in Arusha National Park • Arusha Town tour including local market visits, Maasai curio shop, etc. Accommodation: Rivertrees Country Inn

We will pick you up from the hotel at 8 am and take you to a very special national park called Tarangire. The park is famous for its diverse landscape with 9 different vegetation zones. It is particularly well-known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park attracts wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and of course, elephants. In fact, the park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families.

The lunch area is fascinating and boasts an observatory with amazing views of the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). In the afternoon, we will continue with the game drive before heading to your accommodation. Accommodation: Maramboi Tented Lodge

After breakfast, you will head to Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch box. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive before moving on to Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

The Serengeti National Park is the world's last great wildlife refuge as it contains an estimated 3 million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature's wonders. The area covers 14,763 sq km and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai 'Siringet', meaning endless plains. Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Today, you will be picked up for your full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. We will again overnight at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a "must-see" on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing in Central Serengeti is at its best during the dry season (June - December) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lions and leopards. Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Have a morning game drive in Serengeti and after lunch, you'll drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater to overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

There are several documented resident lion prides within a 1-hour game-drive radius from Kubu Kubu. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in Central Serengeti. This area is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River. Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

With a picnic lunch, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a tour. After the tour, you will drive back to Arusha. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Often called the eighth Natural Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro volcano erupted and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19km wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals, including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
